So Much More Than a Data Warehouse

Prescient’s Demand Signal Repository (DSR) is an intelligent data warehouse which manages commerce level data - such as point of sale, promotions and deliveries - and other transactional data from retailers and suppliers, and enables our customers to apply this data using our collaborative solutions to improve their business performance. Prescient’s DSR harmonizes retailer and supplier transaction data using a series of business rules, making it usable and reliable for each individual trading partner.

What is a Demand Signal Repository?
AMR Research coined the term ‘Demand Signal Repository’ in 2006, and has defined it as “A robust centralized database that stores large volumes of demand data – such as POS data, inventory movement, promotional data, and customer loyalty data – to feed application that support demand-driven supply networks.”

How Does it Work
The Prescient DSR does just that, and more! We aggregate data from all our retail and supplier partners, apply a series of business rules to ensure quality data, and then use that data to power our collaborative supply chain solutions, including Scan Based Trading, Store Level Replenishment, Computer Aided Ordering, Vendor Managed Inventory and Enterprise Supply Chain. We also add another layer of valuable information through our business intelligence application, Visibility & Analytics™:

Our DSR enables a view of product movement in and out of a store and/or warehouse, providing companies a view of actionable information related to sales, shrink and product flow. Retailers and suppliers can leverage the DSR data to proactively identify problems within product performance, product mix, and/or product placement to enable improvements at store level.
